ELVESYS Innovation Center®

The ELVESYS® project starts  in 2008 with the association of 3 researchers in microfluidics. They decide to promote the transfer of microfluidic technologies to the market with a highly innovative company. The project receives the C’NANO valorization prize and the first prototype development is launched in partnership with the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) of Paris.

In 2010, a skilled managerial team is recruited to strengthen ELVESYS®. The project receives the national OSEO Emergence prize for the definition of the initial business model of the company. The project is also selected by the Centre Francilien de l’Innovation (CFI – Régional institution for innovation) to support the set-up of the company.

ELVESYS® company is created in March 2011 by the original 3 founders and the managerial team. The first prototype of the TEMPOCELL™ technology is developed and transferred to academic labs in biology for validation of the proof of concept. Three patents are deposited on the basis of microfluidic control system optimizations and the first ELVEFLOW® products are commercialized. ELVESYS® receives the national OSEO Création-Développement prize in partnership with the French Ministry of Research. This prize offers a grant for sustaining the technological developments of the young start up. The project is also finalist of the Paris Innovation Prize and wins the CRE’ACC prize for the Paris area.

March 2012: first anniversary of ELVESYS®. More than 50% of our clients are now out of France. The French Ministry of Defense chooses ELVESYS for the development of bio-detection device for ultrafast detection of pathogens. ELVESYS® is in contact with more than 15 European microfluidic partners, applies to 3 European FP7 grants and two national grants (ANR). The IP portfolio is now constituted of 5 patents. The ELVEFLOW® product line enlarges with 5 new products during the year including the first microfluidic multiplexer in the world. The first industrial prototype of TEMPOCELL™ technology is sent as beta test platform to biological reference lab. The ELVESYS project is recognized by the entrepreneurship network of Paris (Réseau Entreprendre) as one of the French leading project in high tech. The diversification of ELVESYS activities leads the company to move to the Cochin Hospital in direct contact with its diagnostic center.

The average age of the 14 employees of ELVESYS is 28. ELVESYS® becomes the ELVESYS Innovation Center® to highlight its positioning as an academic research valorization major player.
